Important Shipping Info
I sometimes make deliveries myself and can easily get from New England down to Virginia on the Interstate 81 (I-81) corridor. I do charge for this, but I go this way a few times a year and may save some customers in this region on shipping costs. Please be sure to ask about this option if you live in this region.
There is a Crate Charge to build and prepare the canoe or boat for shipping and take care of all details to send it to you.
Basic crates cost around $275 and are built with recycled materials.
For Premium Shipping options where crates are built from new wood, crates have special requirements, and/or multiple objects are co-packed in one large crate, shipping can range from $275 to $1200 and possibly more depending on time and labor.
Shipping arranged through Truck Freight
Shipping by truck is put out to bid and typically runs from $450 in the eastern US region to over $1000 for the western United States. If you're concerned with these prices, please shop around on your own. I can forklift your boat(s) here at my shop onto any shipping trailer. The Shipping company will want to know the weight and size of the canoe you're shipping. Please be sure to ask me for that information.
Picking up a boat at our workshop
If you are looking at boats and want to come to the workshop to pick one up, I have numerous used trailers, some aluminum and some galvanized, and can sell you one to take home from Vermont. Trailers range from $250 to $800 and will last for years.
